I'm Fighting
for Louisiana

Family Roots
Fleming grew up in a working-class home. His father died while he was still in high school, leaving him with no breadwinner in the home, two younger siblings, and a disabled mother. Despite such hardships, John worked his way through college and was accepted into medical school. After his residency in Family Medicine, Dr. Fleming served as a Naval Medical Officer. After leaving the military, he set up a medical practice in Minden, Louisiana, where he lives today. In addition, he started several companies that operate commercial real estate and multi-unit franchise companies that continue to operate today.
John and Cindy have been married for 46 years. They have four grown children and six grandchildren
Dr. John Fleming’s life story is one of faith, perseverance, and service to others.
Born into humble beginnings, John’s father passed away suddenly at age 43, leaving behind a disabled mother and younger siblings. With his family’s future on the line, John worked tirelessly to keep alive his dream of becoming a doctor. He put himself through college and medical school, proving that with grit and determination, anything is possible in America.
After completing his medical degree, John served his country as a Family Medicine physician in the U.S. Navy, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. When his service was complete, he returned home to Louisiana, started a private medical practice, and began building businesses that today employ more than 350 Louisianans.
In 2008, John was elected to represent Louisiana in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he served from 2009 to 2017. A proud conservative and a founding member of the House Freedom Caucus, John stood firm for limited government, lower taxes, a strong national defense, and the values of faith and family.
When President Donald Trump took office, he turned to John for leadership. Over the next four years, John served in multiple senior roles: Deputy Assistant Secretary at the Department of Health and Human Services, Senate-confirmed Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development, and ultimately Deputy Chief of Staff to the President in the White House.
In 2023, the people of Louisiana elected John Fleming as their State Treasurer. Today, he is fighting every day to safeguard taxpayer dollars, protect Louisiana’s financial future, and bring accountability to government.
Now, John Fleming is running for the U.S. Senate to take that same conservative leadership to Washington — defending our values, securing our borders, protecting Louisiana jobs, and standing shoulder-to-shoulder with President Trump to put America First.
